one day at a time

one day at a time

I'M A RATHER AMBITIOUS PERSON.

Hahaha no kidding, Josh, tell us something we don't know.

Yeah yeah, I get it – for any of you who know me at ALL you know I have way more ideas in my mind than I could ever actually execute and I constantly am fighting the reality of limited time to get done everything that I want to accomplish.

AND IT'S WAY EASY TO GET OVERWHELMED.

If you're like me at all you know this to be true. Whether your running a business like me or simply in a busy season of life, it's easy to let yourself completely drown in the sea of busyness. And in those moments the temptation is to forget to enjoy what's happening right now in the search to accomplish the maximum amount of things possible.

I'm here today to remind you to slow down. To take life one day at a time.

You don't have to accomplish everything right now.

Slow down enough to enjoy what's happening in the now, apply yourself to the things you have to accomplish in the present, and let tomorrow come...well, tomorrow.

Case in point – I didn't think I was going to make it through last week. Last week I had a video shoot Tuesday, an engagement session Wednesday, a songwriters retreat with my church Thursday (that I had to leave early because I had...), a wedding Friday that I both photographed and filmed, and another wedding all day Saturday...plus scores of meetings scattered throughout the week.

It was crazy. And I got totally overwhelmed.

But as I'm sitting here at the end of the week watching the sunset over the lake, I'm reminding myself to slow down. To let myself relax, recalibrate, and kick things back off tomorrow with fresh vigor.

So right now, I'm watching the boats go by, watching some inspirational videos on YouTube, drinking some good coffee, and rambling on to you all on this blog :) Not a bad night.

Anyway my point...

TAKE THINGS ONE DAY AT A TIME.
EVERYTHING DOESN'T HAVE TO HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY.

So slow down, refresh, and appreciate the moments as they happen – it'll pay huge dividends in the long run.

Alright it's cold and I'm going inside now. That's it for today...night y'all!
